Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and creative Part-Time Cake Pastry Chef to join our family at the underground station cafe. In this role, you will play a vital part in crafting delicious cakes, pastries, and börek that bring joy to our customers' day. With a flexible schedule and a supportive team environment, you'll feel right at home as you contribute your talents to our cherished family business. Responsibilities: Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, pastries, and borek according to established recipes and quality standards, including cheesecake, red velvet cake, banana bread, and more. Arrive promptly at 7:00 am to begin preparations, ensuring that products are ready for sale by 8:30 am. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the cafe manager to determine the baking schedule for mass cooking batches. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen space, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Provide friendly and efficient customer service during your shift, treating patrons with the same warmth and care as you would your own family. Assist with other duties as assigned, pitching in wherever needed to ensure the smooth operation of our family business. Qualifications: Previous experience working as a pastry chef or baker, preferably in a cafe or similar setting. Proficiency in baking a variety of cakes, pastries, and börek, with the ability to follow recipes and adapt batch sizes as needed. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards. Flexibility to work part-time hours between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm, with the potential for additional hours as needed. To prepare, cook and serve breakfast at the required service time and standard To undertake any catering task as directed by the Line Manager To undertake washing up and cleaning as required To serve customers in a quick, polite manner ensuring good customer service at all times To complete any administration as requested including food temperatures, wastage and cleaning schedules etc To ensure minimal wastage, implementing ideas for reducing waste wherever possible Assist in the effective management of stock and portion control Ensure all equipment is in a safe working order. Report all faults to the relevant manager and ensure equipment is not used until safe to do so. To ensure the kitchen is maintained in a clean, organised manner ensuring all food safety and health & safety policies and procedures are followed. To communicate to team and client staff in a polite, efficient manner To listen and forward any customer suggestions or complaints to the Line Manager
We are seeking recruit a Dessert Chef. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for bakery and desserts and participate with the Head Chef in the development of the menus in our four schools. JOB DESCRIPTION -Ensure that appropriate methods of cooking and presentation are used to maintain the highest standards of production and service -Ensure that legal and Foundation regulations regarding hygiene, health and safety are complied with -Assist with maintenance of goods received system to ensure statutory and quality standards are maintained -Assist with the monitoring of production and wastage -Promote a friendly working relationship with colleagues -Promote a good Foundation image to customers and guests and use positive customer service practices -Assist with the implementation of cleaning schedules to agreed standards. Assist in pre service briefing of colleagues with regard to dish content, portion sizes, service utensils and accompaniments. -To prepare all food with due care and attention, particularly in regard to customers’ special dietary requirements: for example, nut, dairy or wheat allergies. -To undertake Foundation calendared and non-calendared special function duties outside the normal routine but within the scope of the position and the department’s activities. The payment for these tasks is within the framework of your annual salary. -To promote recycling in line with Foundation expectations. Qualifications: Literate & Numerate Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Desirable) 706/2 or NVQ2 chef qualification, or equivalent (Desirable) * Specific Skills: -Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients, and staff -Ability to work well under pressure -Experience: Previous pastry catering experience.
