The Role As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving drinks, maintaining high standards behind the bar and helping to keep the pub clean, safe and welcoming. You will be an important part of the team and will represent The Wheatsheaf every time you interact with a customer. Key Responsibilities • Welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner., • Take customer orders and serve drinks efficiently., • Pour and serve draught beers, ciders, wines and spirits correctly., • Prepare cocktails and other drinks according to company standards., • Operate the EPOS/till system accurately., • Handle cash and card payments responsibly., • Check customer identification where required and follow the pub’s Challenge 25/age-verification policy., • Never serve alcohol to anyone who is underage or appears intoxicated., • Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked bar., • Replenish fridges, bottles, glasses, garnishes and other bar supplies., • Clean glassware, bar equipment and work areas throughout the shift., • Complete opening and closing duties to the required standard., • Support the team during busy periods, events, live music and match days., • Communicate effectively with managers and other members of staff., • Deal with customer questions, complaints and requests professionally., • Help maintain a welcoming atmosphere for customers., • Report any maintenance, stock or safety issues to management., • Work as part of a team to ensure the pub operates smoothly. Experience Previous bar or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided for the right person, including our drinks standards, EPOS system, licensing responsibilities and company procedures.
