Well-known for their collaborative culture and commitment to progressive change, this multi-accredited contractor is appointed on multiple major highways frameworks across England and Wales and as they continue to grow, they are looking for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is a full-time freelance position based out of their Doncaster office (40 hours per week) with hybrid working and occasional site visits. There is the opportunity for the right candidate to become permanent. Your new roleAs Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be the commercial lead for your business area, providing essential financial and contractual support across projects in England and Wales. You’ll work closely with operational teams, ensuring accurate cost-value reporting and maintaining strong client relationships. Key responsibilities include: • Financial management and valuation of highways projects, • Monthly cost-value reconciliation and reporting, • Supporting site and office teams on contract and commercial matters, • Attending client meetings and site visits to provide hands-on support, • Driving continuous improvement and implementing ideas that enhance performance.What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful, you will bring:, • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the highways and/or local authority sectors, • Sound understanding of cost-value reporting and project financials, • Working knowledge of NEC form of contract, ideally NEC4 (Options B and C), • Excellent communication skills and confidence in client-facing situations, • A proactive mindset and the ability to work collaboratively across teams, • Weekly competitive pay, • Minimum 3 months duration and immediate start, with the possibility of a permanent contract, • Exposure to high-profile and rewarding projects, • Supportive and collaborative team environment

Your new role • Planned and Preventative Maintenance:Execute scheduled maintenance activities on domestic electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity, in accordance with established maintenance protocols., • Fault Diagnosis and Component Replacement:Identify and rectify faults in domestic electrical installations, replacing failed components efficiently and safely to restore functionality., • Reactive Maintenance and Breakdown Response:Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, ensuring all remedial work is conducted under the appropriate Safe System of Work and completed within agreed timeframes., • Systematic Fault-Finding and Problem-Solving:Conduct detailed fault-finding and root cause analysis on electrical systems within the facility, applying technical expertise to resolve complex issues., • Electrical Installation Works:Undertake installation of electrical systems and components in accordance with provided design specifications and current IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)., • Inspection and Testing:Perform inspection and testing of electrical installations to ensure compliance with current IEE wiring regulations, maintaining accurate records and certification. PAYE and Umbrella pay options available What you'll need to succeed • Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent)., • 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification., • Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a domestic or secure environment., • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including Safe Systems of Work., • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team., • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
