Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our vibrant childcare team. As a Nursery Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the daily care, supervision, and educational activities of children within the nursery setting. You will work closely with other staff to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can grow and develop. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in planning and delivering a range of creative, developmental, and educational activities for children. - Ensure a safe, secure, and healthy environment, adhering to nursery policies and procedures. - Support children in their personal, social, and emotional development, fostering positive relationships with both children and parents. - Observe and record children's progress, helping to identify and meet their developmental needs. - Help with feeding, changing, and personal hygiene of children as required. - Maintain cleanliness and organization within the nursery setting. - Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing feedback on their child's day. - Collaborate with other nursery staff to ensure a smooth and effective nursery operation. Qualifications & Skills: - Experience working with young children, ideally in a nursery or early years setting. - A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education (preferred but not essential). - Understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Patience, empathy, and a caring nature. - Ability to work effectively as part of a team. - A proactive and flexible approach to work. Job description • Providing creative play, reading, mark-making, and storytelling with little ones, supporting early language development, and helping children develop their creativity and imagination. • Providing enabling environments for children to learn /development and emotional well being. • Providing a range of play activities, both indoors and outside, to help children develop, showing planning for different areas of learning and age ranges. • Picking children from and dropping off at nursery, school or their other settings, activities and clubs. • Work in partnership with parents to enable the best care as well as working with other childcare professionals and to support both children and their families through changes, transitions and to support their child individual needs' ongoing learning and development • Planning preparation and serving meals based on dietary needs. • cooking with and for the children, providing valuable real-life learning experiences and healthy, nutritious meals and snacks • Making sure that the children you are well looked after , feel secure, and are safe, warm and well fed. • Providing various play activities, both indoors and outside, in other to help children develop, showing planning for different areas of learning and age ranges, as well as taking children on outings, for example to the park or to the garden
