Role Overview As the Deputy Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in the effective daily management of the nursery. You will support the Nursery Manager to lead a team of practitioners, ensure compliance and safeguarding standards are met, and help create a positive, inspiring environment for children aged 0–5. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner or room leader ready to step up into a leadership position. As a Nursery Manager , you will be responsible for leadership, management and daily operations in the nursery. This position involves managing personnel, upholding legal regulations, providing the best possible care and education for the children, and maintaining a safe and stimulating environment. Also, you will work closely with staff, carers, and parents to ensure development and well-being of children. Duties • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of the nursery. This involves planning schedules, and organising resources, • Leadership and Team Management: You will be responsible for training, supervising, and motivating members of staff, ensuring they are efficient in their respective roles, • Ensure there is a high standard of physical, emotional and intellectual care for the children, • Parental Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents and carers, and keep them informed of progress or any concerns, • Maintain a clean and safe environment by carrying out frequent risk assessments and making sure that safety and health regulations are followed., • Stay updated on best practices in early childhood education and childcare.

Main activities:  To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times. To deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress. To help ensure the setting meets Ofsted requirements at all times. To undertake designated officer roles as directed. To work with other professionals in the local area for the benefit of children and families. To understand and work to setting 's policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies To plan activities which ensure each child is working towards the early learning outcomes. To be a key person. To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register, accident and incident book, risk assessments To liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the setting and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents’ involvement.
