Overview: We are looking for a passionate and qualified Early Years Practitioner / Room Leader to join a well-established nursery in North West London. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing team that values creativity, development, and the well-being of every child. Due to increased enrolment, we are hiring for two new team members. The ideal candidate will be experienced in supporting early years development, leading activities, and working in line with the EYFS framework. Key Responsibilities: Act as a key worker, developing strong relationships with children and families. Support or lead room planning and structured learning activities. Observe and assess children’s development in accordance with EYFS guidelines. Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging learning environment. Uphold values of inclusion, safeguarding, and confidentiality at all times. Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to continuous improvement. Requirements: A minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (e.g. NVQ3 or equivalent). Solid understanding of the EYFS framework. Experience in early years settings and key worker responsibilities. Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. A genuine passion for early childhood development. Safeguarding training and a commitment to child protection practices. Additional Information: This role is term-time only, meaning you will work during school/nursery term dates (approximately 38 weeks per year). Weekly working hours total 30 hours per week. You will have unpaid time off during school holidays. Main activities: • Overall day to day management responsibility for the nursery. • To be responsible for the efficient running of the nursery and overall delivery of a high quality service. • To ensure that the nursery provides a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times. • To ensure that the nursery plans an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress. • To ensure the nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times. • To manage, supervise and support the nursery staff. • To work as a member of the team to contribute to the childcare and help deliver the Early Years Curriculum. • To work with other professionals in the local area for the benefit of children and families. • To ensure all staff understand and work to nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies. • Take responsibility for planning, which ensures each child is working towards their early learning goals. • To organise and participate in the key person system. • To conduct staff appraisals and supervisions as appropriate and to identify staff training needs. • To ensure all records are properly maintained in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Charity. • To liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the nursery and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents’ involvement. • To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Director • To maintain accurate records for the nursery and produce management information as required.

Provide regular feedback to parents about their child’s progress, milestones, and daily activities. Address any concerns or queries from parents professionally and empathetically. Team Collaboration Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and deliver high-quality childcare services. Participate actively in team meetings, training sessions, and nursery events. Support the Nursery Manager and senior staff in maintaining smooth daily operations. Qualifications and Experience:Essential:Level 3 Diploma in Childcare or equivalent qualification. Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework and early childhood development. Previous experience working in an early years setting. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols. Paediatric First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
