Senior Structural Engineer – Temporary Works Design Near Hertford (Hybrid – typically 2 days in the office Full-time | Permanent We are working with a growing, employee-focused structural consultancy based near Hertford, who are looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer with a strong background or interest in temporary works design. The Role You will play a key role in delivering temporary works and structural engineering solutions across a range of complex construction projects. Responsibilities include: • Leading and delivering temporary works designs (e.g. excavation support, propping, formwork, falsework, demolition sequencing), • Producing calculations, drawings, and technical reports in line with Eurocodes, • Developing construction methodologies and sequencing in collaboration with contractors, • Attending site visits and client meetings, • Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development, • Supporting project delivery from concept through to completion About You • Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering, • Ideally Chartered or working towards Chartership, • Strong experience in permanent works or temporary works design within a consultancy or contractor environment, • Confident managing projects and liaising with clients, • Commercially aware with a proactive, solutions-led approach, • UK project experience essential What’s on Offer • Hybrid working (typically 2 days in the office), • Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) – annual tax-free bonus (up to HMRC limits), • Future share/equity potential, • Supportive, collaborative environment with strong leadership, • Clear progression with no glass ceiling, • Relaxed and friendly office culture – including an office dog 🐶, • Dedicated library / chill-out space for breaks and quiet work, • Competitive salary and benefits package Why Join?
