Sushi Daily Waitrose St'Albans! We are looking for a full time Sushi chef and part time Assistant sushi chef. Here at Sushi Daily we offer daily freshly hand made sushi prepared in store at Waitrose for Customers to enjoy at home or on the go. We are looking for team members with at least 1 years of Sushi Making and fish cutting experience. • prepare all types of sushi, including maki, nigiri and sashimi, • manage food prep activities, like cooking rice, cleaning and cutting vegetables, • maintain hygiene principles in all cooking areas and clean your space at the end of the shift. Our ideal candidates will be: • dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service, • honest, reliable and passionate, • have weekend availability and a good level of flexibility, • Health and Safety certificate, knife handling skills, food hygiene certificates and allergens certificate preferred. The role will be on an hourly rate dependent on experience and an immediate start is available for the right applicant or we can work with your timescales. What You’ll Be Doing: • Designing and preparing a seasonal menu with input on daily specials • Leading kitchen operations, including food prep and inventory management • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety • Working closely with the café team to ensure a smooth and enjoyable customer experience
Ensure the correct use of spices and ingredients, maintaining consistency in flavour, aroma, and presentation. Maintain a high standard of food quality, taste, texture, and presentation across all curry dishes. Adhere strictly to traditional culinary techniques, ensuring cultural authenticity in every dish. Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team to design seasonal menus and daily specials. Promote team development and knowledge sharing of regional culinary practices. Monitor stock levels of key ingredients and spices, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste. Comply with all food hygiene, health and safety regulations. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to accommodate customer dietary needs, allergy considerations, and feedback. Ensure excellent customer satisfaction through consistency in food quality and responsiveness to special requests.
Part-Time Sourdough Pizza Chef (Saturday Nights) Join Savage Pizza in Harpenden for our flagship Saturday-night service. You’ll hand-stretch slow-fermented dough, top to spec, run the deck oven, and help box orders—all in a fast, friendly pop-up environment. We sell out regularly! Shift & Pay Every Saturday · 3 pm – 9 pm (set-up through clean-down) £15 – £20 per hour Extra shifts as we add Friday nights and more. What You’ll Do Stretch 270 g sourdough doughballs and top pizzas accurately Manage oven temps, turning cadence, and bake colour Keep a spotless station and assist with prep/boxing Maintain food-safety and speed targets (12 pies/hour) What We’re Looking For: 1 yr+ pizza or similar line-cook experience Confident with high-heat deck or wood-fired ovens Level 2 Food Hygiene (or willing to get it) Calm, positive energy in a small team Perks Free staff pizza every shift Training in artisan sourdough and fermented chillies Scope to grow into more hours and a senior role as we scale Location Savage Pizza pop-up, Harpenden AL5. Steak Chef Commuting to St Albans is essential. Candidate needs to be able to cook steak to a good level and have a good understanding of how to prepare it at different levels including rare, medium and well done. Experience is essential. 42 hours per week.
