Principal Flood Modeller Location: Glasgow or Edinburgh (Hybrid Working) The Opportunity: An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Flood Modeller to join a growing multidisciplinary consultancy delivering projects across Scotland, England and Ireland. This position offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of flood risk, coastal, infrastructure and development projects within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading technical delivery, managing client relationships and supporting the continued growth of the flood and water team. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the delivery of Flood Risk Assessments, Hydrological Assessments and Drainage Strategies, • Support the design and development of flood alleviation schemes, • Manage projects, programmes and client relationships, • Contribute to business development and tender submissions, • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, • Coordinate and quality assure technical outputs and project deliverables, • Deliver feasibility studies, optioneering and detailed design packages, • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across a range of sectors Requirements: • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Water Management or a related discipline, • Chartered or Incorporated with ICE, CIWEM or similar professional institution, • Strong experience in 1D-2D flood modelling using Infoworks ICM and/or Flood Modeller, • Proven background delivering flood risk and hydrology projects within the UK or Ireland, • Experience producing Flood Risk Assessments, Surface Water Management Plans and drainage strategies, • GIS capability including ArcGIS and/or QGIS, • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, programmes and project scope, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Previous experience mentoring or supervising junior engineers/modellers What’s on Offer: • Competitive salary package, • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements, • Clear progression opportunities within a growing team, • Ongoing professional development and chartership support, • Exposure to a varied and technically challenging project portfolio, • Collaborative and supportive working environment, • Comprehensive benefits package including enhanced leave, wellbeing support and professional memberships
