Position Overview: Are you ready to join our hospital security team? Assist Security Group is seeking experienced security professionals with exceptional customer service skills and a background in fast-paced environments, ideally, within NHS Hospitals. As a Security Officer, you will receive comprehensive training to handle various situations, including conflict management and physical intervention. Responsibilities & Duties: • Collaborate with the in-house security management team, following instructions from Hospital Security Managers., • Manage queues, entrances, lobbies, wards, and car parks around the hospital premises., • Provide assistance to the public, offering directions and information about the hospital and local area., • Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and contractors, ensuring a visible and vigilant security presence., • Offer support to NHS staff and respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies., • Utilize conflict management skills to de-escalate situations and minimize the need for physical intervention., • Maintain effective communication via two-way radios and accurately report activities and incidents. Requirements: • Valid Door Supervisor licence., • Must be able to commute to Kingston Upon Thames, • Right to Work in the UK., • 5-year employment/educational history., • Able to work in a fast paced, challenging environment., • Able to keep cool under pressure., • Proficiency in using two-way radios., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Professional appearance and demeanor. Preferred (but not essential) Requirements: • Previous experience in NHS environments., • Security experience with conflict management., • Additional training in Emergency First Aid, ACT, Safeguarding, Fire Marshall, Manual Handling, Conflict Management.   Security Systems Specialist Full time, Permanent Location – Selby or Glasgow, with travel to other locations as required About the role: Reporting to the Security Systems Manager, the Security Systems Specialist will play a key role in maintaining, fault finding, optimising, and upgrading the wider Drax security systems infrastructure. This includes ensuring the effective operation of CCTV, access control, perimeter detection, and associated security technologies across all Drax sites in the UK and overseas. As a Security Systems Specialist, you’ll work proactively to identify vulnerabilities, support system resilience, and implement improvements that enhance overall security performance. You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and contractors to deliver a stable, secure, and future ready security platform that supports both operational needs and regulatory requirements. This role will require travel to sites throughout the UK as required, and there may be times where you’ll be working away from home. Additionally, you’ll be required to be on-call 1 week in every 4, as the team provides 24/7 support. In return you’ll receive an on-call allowance as part of the package on offer. Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include: • Work with the team to provide expert support on Drax’s security infrastructure including CCTV, access control, intruder, perimeter intrusion detection, barrier, gates, and turnstile systems, • Manage and coordinate third party contractors and suppliers, ensuring safe working practices, clear briefs, compliance with site rules, accurate RAMS, and delivery of work to a high standard., • Act as the primary point of contact for technical queries, performance monitoring, and signoff of works., • Deliver assigned security projects in scope and on time., • Assist the Security Systems Analyst and Security Systems Apprentice with the daily BAU tasks We’re not just talking about making a difference, we’re making it happen. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join a close-knit and professional team, delivering high-quality service across a range of commercial and high-profile sites. The role offers a strong mix of independence and team collaboration, with opportunities for training, progression, and occasional UK and international travel.
