Principal Transport Planner - Birmingham \nLocation: Birmingham (Hybrid Working Available) \nSalary: Up to £60,000 + Excellent Benefits \nType: Permanent, Full Time \n\nI'm currently working with a highly respected, independent transport and infrastructure consultancy that is continuing to strengthen its presence in Birmingham. Due to a strong pipeline of development-led projects, they are looking to appoint a Transport Planner to join their Birmingham team. \n\nThis consultancy has built a strong reputation within the development sector for delivering pragmatic, evidence-based transport advice across residential, commercial, education, energy and mixed-use schemes. They are known for their technical quality, collaborative approach, and commitment to developing their people. \n\nThe Role \n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a Transport Planner looking to take ownership of projects while continuing to develop technically within a supportive and well-established team. \n\nKey responsibilities will include: \n\nPreparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans \n\nUndertaking junction capacity assessments and transport modelling \n\nCarrying out accessibility appraisals and active travel assessments \n\nSupporting site feasibility studies and development planning advice \n\nLiaising with local authorities, clients and design team members \n\nContributing to project delivery from initial appraisal through to planning submission \n\nYou will gain exposure to a wide range of development projects and have the opportunity to work closely with senior colleagues, developing both your technical and client-facing skills. \n\nAbout You \n\nI am keen to speak with candidates who have: \n\nExperience within a transport planning consultancy environment \n\nStrong report writing and analytical capability \n\nExperience preparing development planning documentation \n\nFamiliarity with junction modelling software (e.g. Junctions 10/11, LinSig, ARCADY/PICADY) \n\nA good understanding of UK transport policy and planning processes \n\nA proactive and collaborative approach \n\nProgression towards, or interest in, a relevant professional qualification (e.g. CIHT, ICE or TPS) \n\nWhat's On Offer \n\nSalary up to £60,000 depending on experience \n\nStrong career progression within a growing regional team \n\nExposure to varied and high-profile development projects \n\nSupportive, collaborative working culture \n\nFlexible and hybrid working arrangements \n\nCompetitive benefits package \n\nIf you are considering your next move and would like to learn more about this opportunity, please get in touch for a confidential discussion with Michael from Aldwych Consulting. \n\n(phone number removed) \n\nAldwych Consulting values diversity and promotes equality.
