Engineering Manager - Data Centre, Hounslow/Heathrow - Critical Environments \n \n To control and implement deliverables against all allocated Customer-Specific Service Level Agreements. To make a direct contribution to the development and successful operation of the Managed Services function, working with colleagues to develop and implement departmental strategy, objectives, and improvement processes. \n \n The operational requirements for customer sites are to be a member of the team covering 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, on a shift Rota basis, and to be available to cover for shift members where possible. \n \n The Engineering Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the shift, carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance and Reactive works to Building Services Systems within a contracted site. \n \n It is their responsibility to liaise closely with their customer, always promote a positive image of the company, and provide technical guidance on the operation, installation, and maintenance of the building services systems within a contracted site. \n \n To supervise any extra work jobs, including inspection, escorting and management. To provide shift cover where the shift themselves are not able to do so. To be appointed as an authorised person for the operation of both Low and High Voltage equipment. Where required, establish robust processes and procedures to ensure the site operates in compliance. \n \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Ensure that accurate and comprehensive records are kept pertaining to Health & Safety, Electrical installation works, general building compliance, and QA.\n, • Ensure that sub-contractors perform to meet the site requirements as required.\n, • The role requires an HV qualification, and the individual must obtain Authorised Person status.\n, • Supervise sub-contractor work approvals and safe operation while repairs or services are carried out on site.\n, • Ensure all planned works are suitably organised and that the relevant labour resources are available to cater for the task; also ensure that all associated meetings take place with the shift/personnel involved.\n, • Ensure that annual leave requests for shift members are approved and the positions are suitably covered.\n, • Conform to the Permit to Work System in accordance with Quality, Health & Safety procedures, and client requirements (or approved client system).\n, • Ensure that suitable equipment and parts are available to carry out additions or modifications to the above plant.\n, • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared, reviewed, and utilised for all tasks to be carried out to ensure safe working practices.\n, • To maintain & develop good client and site team relationships.\n, • Ensure the provision of a Safe & Healthy working environment.\n, • Ensure a professional image is presented to clients and visitors.\n, • Undertake other tasks as defined and requested by local management.\n, • Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.\n, • Ensure awareness of and compliance with the contractual KPI’s/SLA’s.\n, • Ensure the Computer Based Maintenance system, e.g. Service Insight etc. is kept up to date for accurate assets.\n, • Confer with the management team to discuss project specifications and procedures.\n, • Make detailed plans to accomplish goals and direct the integration of technical activities.\n, • Perform and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the site team.\n, • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports.\n, • Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to the client team.\n, • Provide cover for Shift Manager and Shift Technician if they are unable to do so.\n, • Any other task as directed by the account management team.\n, • Any other task as directed by the client team.\n\n \n Accountabilities \n \n\n • Directly accountable to the Senior Engineering Manager as well as the Client's Data Centre Operations Manager, including responsibility for all HR/pay/sickness and training requirements.\n, • The post holder has directly reporting staff.\n, • This post carries direct budgetary responsibility and financial awareness is required.\n\n
