Company: GP Plumbing & Heating Engineers Limited Location: Newbuild residential developments across Sussex, Surrey, kent, Hampshire and London. Engagement: Price work, paid per plot/stage completed Reports to: Contracts Manager / Site Supervisor Role Summary We are looking for experienced plumbing and heating engineers to install and complete mechanical services on newbuild housing developments. You will work on a price work basis, taking on plots or stages and completing them to programme and to the standard required by our housebuilder clients. Quality, right-first-time workmanship and good site conduct are essential, as work is signed off plot by plot. Key Responsibilities First fix • Install hot and cold water pipework, waste and soil pipework, and heating flow and return pipework, • Install underfloor heating manifolds and pipework where specified, • Fit boiler flues, cylinders and associated first fix components, • Pressure test and record results before handover to following trades Second fix • Fit sanitaryware, taps, radiators, TRVs, towel rails and associated fittings, • Connect appliances, cylinders, controls and heating components Final fix and commissioning • Fill, flush, balance and commission heating and hot water systems, • Commission boilers, heat pumps or HIUs in line with manufacturer instructions, • Carry out gas tightness and safety checks (Gas Safe registered engineers only), • Complete and submit commissioning records, test certificates and compliance paperwork Quality and completion • Complete work to specification, drawings and the housebuilder's standards, • Carry out your own checks at each stage and be available for QA inspections at 1st fix, 2nd fix and final, • Rectify snags and defects promptly and at your own cost where the fault is yours, • Keep plots clean, with waste removed and materials stored securely Health, safety and site conduct • Follow RAMS, site rules and induction requirements at all times, • Wear correct PPE and use tools and access equipment safely, • Report accidents, near misses and hazards immediately, • Work cooperatively with other trades, site management and the housebuilder's staff Essential Requirements • Proven experience on newbuild residential sites, • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent), • Valid CSCS card (JIB Gold or equivalent), • Unvented hot water qualification (G3), • Own full set of tools, plus a suitable van, • Own PPE and the ability to work independently to programme, • Able to read plans, specifications and price lists Desirable • Gas Safe registration (for gas commissioning and compliance work), • Experience with heat pumps, MCS, HIUs or communal heat networks, • Experience with Taylor Wimpey, Vistry, Barratt Redrow, Persimmon or similar housebuilders, • Water Regs and F-Gas knowledge, • Own public liability insurance (for self-employed operatives) Pay and Terms • Payment basis: Price work per plot or stage, according to the agreed price list for the house types on site, • Rates: good rates of pay, • Payment: Weekly pay based on completed and signed-off work, • Status: Self-employed under CIS, with all deductions handled in line with HMRC rules, • Materials: Supplied by GP (labour only), • Site allocation: Work issued according to programme, with plots allocated by the Contracts Manager or site supervisor What We Expect • Reliability, punctuality and good communication, • Pride in your workmanship and right-first-time quality, • Honesty on progress, defects and delays, • Respect for clients, colleagues and other trades on site, • A professional attitude that reflects well on GP
