Experienced Paediatric Support Workers required in Marlow, Buckinghamshire to join a 24 hour care team (Full time or part time position available) An exciting opportunity for support workers to join a 24 hour care team to care for a lovely 8-year-old boy who has cerebral palsy and complex needs. We are looking to recruit caring, compassionate and experienced support workers who are committed to providing high quality care and support. They will join a team of support workers led by a nurse team leader. You need: A full, clean driving licence (desirable) Experience of working with children with complex health needs (Although full training can be provided), Experience of working waking nights preferable. To deliver high standards of support to maximise the client’s participation and enjoyment of life. To follow care plans and risk 04/22 assessments. To work sensitively and in tandem with his parents A caring, respectful, professional approach with a willingness to uphold the client’s dignity. Working hours: The position is to join a team to cover the following hours. Waking nights Monday to Sunday 7:30pm-7:30am, Day shifts 7:30am-7:30pm. Job Overview: As a Support Worker in our Supported Housing program, you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals to achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. You will provide personalized support to residents, helping them navigate daily challenges and access necessary resources. Key Responsibilities: - Provide one-on-one support to residents in a supported housing setting, fostering a positive and encouraging environment. - Assist residents with daily living skills, including budgeting, meal preparation, personal hygiene, and household management. - Develop and implement individualized support plans in collaboration with residents, social workers, and other stakeholders. - Facilitate access to community resources, including healthcare, employment services, and educational opportunities. - Monitor residents’ progress and well-being, documenting and reporting any changes or concerns to the relevant parties. - Encourage social inclusion and participation in community activities, fostering a sense of belonging and connection. - Conduct regular check-ins and assessments to ensure residents’ needs are being met effectively. - Maintain a safe and supportive living environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations. - Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role. Qualifications: - Previous experience in a support or care role, preferably within a housing or community setting. - Relevant qualifications in social care, psychology, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care). - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals. - Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by individuals in supported housing situations. - Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes. - Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required. - A valid driver’s license may be preferred, depending on the location and needs of residents.
