Full time breakfast chef

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As the second-in-command in the kitchen, the Sous Chef plays a critical role in food preparation, team leadership, and kitchen operations. You will support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality cuisine while maintaining food safety standards and leading kitchen staff to excellence. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation. Supervise kitchen staff and ensure efficient, smooth kitchen operations. Ensure consistent food quality and presentation standards. Monitor and enforce food safety and sanitation regulations. Manage inventory, order supplies, and minimize food waste. Train, mentor, and evaluate junior kitchen staff. Develop and test new menu items or recipes. Handle kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef. Requirements: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen. Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred. Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Excellent leadership and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Needs to be very good in control of the kitchen in busy times and efficient.

Prepare and present a variety of sushi and hot items in line with OMI Sushi’s standards Maintain a clean and organised work environment in compliance with food safety and kosher regulations Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering ingredients Contribute to menu development and daily specials Work efficiently under pressure during busy service times Requirements: Proven experience as a sushi chef Excellent knife skills and knowledge of sushi preparation techniques Understanding of kosher kitchen practices (training can be provided) Strong attention to detail and a team-oriented mindset Food hygiene certification (Level 2 or above preferred)

Tanakatsu is an original Japanese Katsu restaurant based in Angel Islington and has been running for last 8 years. Currently we are recruiting roll as SENIOR CDP who has a minimum of 2 years experience in similar position As a CDP you are expected to cook and manage hot section a(not necessary to have experience in Japanese cuisine) be able to comunícate to junior kitchen members and work closely with head chef/owner to keep up both good standards. In return you will receive good wages meals on duty 20 days holiday+ bank holidays Two and half days off one of them will always be Sunday.
