Account Executive – Commercial Insurance 📍 Southend-on-Sea (Hybrid Working) 💼 Existing Book: c. £200K GWP The Role We are seeking an experienced and driven Account Executive to join our growing commercial insurance team in Southend-on-Sea. This role offers the opportunity to inherit and develop an established portfolio of approximately £200K Gross Written Premium (GWP), alongside generating new business across key sectors. You will be responsible for managing and expanding a book of clients across a range of commercial classes, including Fleet, Contractors, Liability, Professional Indemnity (PI), and Business Combined policies. Key Responsibilities • Take ownership of an inherited portfolio of commercial clients (c. £200K GWP), • Build strong, long-term relationships to maximise retention and growth, • Identify and convert new business opportunities within the local market, • Advise clients on appropriate cover across Fleet, Contractors, Liability, PI, and Business Combined, • Negotiate with insurers to secure competitive terms and coverage, • Work closely with Account Handlers to ensure excellent service delivery, • Maintain compliance with FCA regulations and internal procedures, • Proven experience as an Account Executive or similar client-facing role in commercial insurance, • Strong technical knowledge across Fleet, Contractors, Liability, PI, and Business Combined, • Demonstrated success in retaining and growing a book of business, • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, • Self-motivated with a strong new business focus, • Knowledge of the Southend-on-Sea / Essex market is advantageous, • Competitive salary + uncapped bonus/commission structure, • Hybrid working model (office + home-based flexibility), • Inherited book of business providing immediate earning potential, • Ongoing professional development and support towards CII qualifications, • A collaborative and supportive team environment, • Clear career progression opportunities
