We are seeking a dedicated Special Needs Support Worker to support our non verbal 16 year old son who has Autism with profound learning difficulties. We are looking for someone who is fit and active to help support our son engage in various activities over the summer holiday period and beyond. He loves the outdoors and particularly enjoys swimming, trampolining and going to parks and other recreational places. Our son is a very happy, loving and compliant young man so his support workers do have a lot of fun supporting him. Our support workers usually have a minimum of two weekend sessions per month and more during the school holidays based around their availability on a rota system. Requirements: - Prior experience working with children, especially those with special education needs - Knowledge or background in special education practices - Ability to work compassionately and patiently with individuals requiring extra support - Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children and their families - Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
