Our client is a family run business, with an amazing product and customer centric approach. They have 160 stores in the UK and a rapidly growing online, International and concessions business. They really care about people, customers, and the communities in which they trade and are now looking for a Merchandise FP&A Analyst to be based out of their amazing Amersham head office. The role will be hybrid, with a split of three days office, two days working from home. As their Merchandise FP&A Analyst you will provide commercial analysis that supports the buying and merchandising teams in making informed business decisions and maintaining accurate financial planning. You work closely with stakeholders across finance, buying, merchandising, and supply chain to contribute to growth initiatives, stock management, and overall business performance. Our Merchandise FP&A Analyst will be proactive, attentive to detail, and analytical, with a natural curiosity to understand the reasoning behind numerical data. With strong communication skills, you'll build strong professional relationships and present insights clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Merchandise FP&A Analyst – Responsibilities - Preparation and review of weekly and monthly trading reports. - Support budgeting, reforecasting and financial planning cycles for relevant channels and categories. - Provide analysis & model propositions for promotions, projects and business requests. - Collaborate with the Buying and Merchandising teams to improve reporting capabilities and data tools, aligning outputs with the overall business strategy. - Act as a trusted advisor by challenging assumptions and highlighting risks and opportunities. - Identify opportunities to improve systems. - Support in the development of Power BI dashboards to support stakeholders with meaningful analysis. - Support with any ad-hoc analysis and projects. Merchandise FP&A Analyst – Required Skills - Experience in a commercial, merchandising, buying or finance retail support role. - Strong analytical and modelling skills with advanced Excel skills - Strong numerical and commercial acumen with attention to detail. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - able to work effectively with cross-functional teams. - Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment. - Proven experience supporting senior business leaders by reporting and clearly explaining financial results and insights. - Experience with using Power BI and building dashboards. - Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA if coming from a finance route is desirable.
