Role Responsibilities • Lead the global fundraising strategy for the firm's first-time fund, targeting institutional and private capital sources., • Build and manage a high-performing international marketing team to support capital raising efforts., • Leverage existing investor relationships and develop new ones across pensions, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, and family offices., • Personally lead investor meetings, pitches, and closings, with support from the CIO and senior leadership., • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to refine the fund's positioning and investor outreach strategy., • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between fundraising, investment, and operational teams. Ideal Candidate • 15+ years of experience in capital raising, with a strong track record of closing institutional mandates., • Deep relationships with global investors, including pensions, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, and family offices., • Experience raising capital for infrastructure strategies., • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, non-hierarchical environment., • Strong leadership skills and the ability to build and scale a team., • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable with high levels of accountability and autonomy. The Team You’ll Join • World-class team working in a focused, collaborative environment, • 4 PhDs (core team + consultants) across thermodynamics, computational modelling and sustainable engineering, • 6 former Dyson engineers covering design, prototyping and productisation, • Global advisors at the top of their fields: MEP/grey-water systems, optics, international deployment, market & finance The Opportunity • Strong core technology with a clear, validated need, • A broad set of grants, prizes, philanthropic funders and investor networks to engage, • Rich technical content, validated claims and high-quality graphics — no need to start from scratch What You’ll Do • Lead and win grants, prizes and philanthropic funding; cultivate investor and partner-network relationships, • Own the process end-to-end: prospecting, qualification, drafting, submission, follow-up and diligence, • Work closely with the team to deliver credible, compelling proposals with strong technical/scientific input, • Manage ongoing funding activity: maintain active opportunities, progress them to decision, and report outcomes clearly, • Represent RainBox to funders with clarity, warmth and professionalism What We’re Looking For • Proven experience in fundraising, development or investor relations (startup, non-profit or impact), • Demonstrable success securing grants, philanthropy or investment, • Excellent writing and relationship skills; a collaborative, easy-to-work-with teammate Offer & Structure We’re early-stage, so the role begins on commission while we validate fit and traction together, then transitions to base + commission. • Months 0–3 (commission-only):, • 12% commission on funds secured through grants and prizes (a lower rate applies for philanthropy and investor funding), • After Month 3 (conversion):, • If success rate is ≥40%, move to £40,000 base (pro-rata) + 7% commission on grants and prizes (lower rate for philanthropy/investors), • Working pattern: Mostly remote, flexible hours, with occasional meetings in Bristol and London.
