With our expanding international operations, we are seeking a Business Development Executive to strengthen client relationships, win new business, and contribute to revenue growth.


Role Purpose
The Business Development Executive will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities in freight forwarding, maintaining strong client relationships, and supporting revenue growth across RIV’s international markets. The role requires generating sales leads, preparing quotations, negotiating rates, and ensuring successful handover of new accounts to operations.


Key Responsibilities
● Identify and pursue new business opportunities in air and ocean freight forwarding.


● Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and account growth.


● Prepare quotations, pricing proposals, and service presentations in line with company guidelines.


● Negotiate rates and service agreements with clients, balancing profitability and competitiveness.


● Maintain a structured sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts and activity reports to management.


● Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth implementation of client accounts.


● Conduct market research to monitor competitor activity, industry trends, and customer requirements.


● Achieve agreed sales targets and contribute to the company’s overall growth objectives.


Qualifications & Experience
● Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field (advantage).


● Proven experience in B2B sales (experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or transport is desirable).


● Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.


● Ability to prepare professional sales proposals and present to clients.


● Organised and target-driven, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.


● Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with CRM systems is an advantage.
