Main Duties - Undertake all duties and responsibilities in accordance with: company policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, standards; good professional practice,, CQC and other regulatory requirements, relevant legislations, all legal and contractual obligations. - Provide advice, information and support to the residents. - To support and provide care for the young people/children in the home by assisting them with; bathing, eating, homework, education, behaviour, money management, travel training etc. - Ensure resident’s follow the homes rules and support the manager in investigating and taking action where these may have been breached. - Manage challenging behaviour which may require physical intervention to appropriately support the child/ young person. - Oversee the maintenance of accurate client records and databases and provide statistics for management and to assist with service evaluation in a timely fashion. - Support clients with the prompting of their medication, conduct accurate and timely medication audits and maintain accurate medication records. - Complete written documentation (support plans, Medication sheets, risk assessments) regarding the young people/ children to help and ensure their safety and development within our setting. - Take part in regular team meetings to discuss the residents, the progress that they are making, how their general well-being is as well as forming action plans to support them further. - Attend professionals meetings (where appropriate). - Assist in the transfer of individuals between agencies and services. Health and Safety - To be familiar with Health and Safety Regulations, policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to within your own area of responsibility. - To be aware of and follow fire policies and procedures, ensuring safety of residents and workers safety and welfare at all times. The Registered Manager is accountable for ensuring that we deliver high quality care to the young people within our Semi – Independent Home. This means that they are responsible for delivery of all care services for 16- and 17-year-olds as well as providing strategic planning for developments within the home, and all day-to-day management matters. They will demonstrate the ability to build on the well-established principles and practice standards existing within Hawthorn Support. The aim of the Registered Manager is to ensure that each young person placed within the home is fully prepared for life outside the care system. Consequently, they are expected to demonstrate practical leadership in childcare, as well as organise and support staff to provide the best possible training for each young person. This involves being personally available, as well as the supervision and mentoring of staff, organisation of work patterns, and facilitation of care focussed training, and accessing of appropriate services to support the childcare practices within the home. As this is a vital role in the lives of young people cared for at Hawthorn Support, it requires an active and long-term commitment. The Project Manager and Service Manager work closely with each Registered Manager, assisting them to provide high-quality care. While the Registered Manager is employed for 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday) they are expected to arrange their own work rota which may involve evening, weekend and sleeping-in duties, if necessary. The Registered Manager is wholly responsible for ensuring an appropriate staff presence to meet the needs of the young people in the home. OVERVIEW OF EVENTS ROLE The events manager role combines client and on-event management with business development and event ops. It is a hands on role for someone who wants a great combination of management & office based work with practical on-event management. We have a busy calendar of weddings and events, especially from May- September but you will help us fill that all year round. You will be able to hit the ground running, making sure our events setups outfits look the part, are well organised, and are health and safety compliant. The events we cater span weddings, birthdays, street parties, festivals, in-house pizzeria events and corporate workshops (more recently) and more. You will be responsible for creating the amazing Well Kneaded experience ‘off-site’. A key part of your role will be clear communication with the head chef at the pizzeria and the event teams, in order that events operations are well planned and smoothly executed. The role requires your high capacity for planning and organisation.! You will be strategic and able to quickly understand the bigger operational picture of Well Kneaded for diary management and coordination, and will be an excellent team player and motivator. You will be a natural problem solver, managing both client and team expectations with an energetic flair, in the lead up to an event, and also the wind down.
