Chef - Brown Bear Coffee

Job Description:

Brown Bear Coffee is a well-established, popular brunch spot and we are now looking for a reliable, experienced chef to join our team. This individual will be required to help contribute to providing customers a smooth, fast and high quality food service, and also bring a fresh perspective to our menu, which we love to consistently update and improve.

Responsibilities

• Bring a calm, level headed approach to kitchen, in order to keep food being served in a smooth, fast and efficient manner.
• Prepare ingredients that are required for service.
• Enforce strict health and hygiene practices during your shifts.
• Enforce safe food practices and record when necessary.
• Contribute to keeping the kitchen clean, and food appropriately stored and labelled.
• Communicating any low stocks, and what is needed to be ordered each week.
• Consistently looking at opportunities to improve the running of the kitchen, rather than just continuing with the status quo.
• Get creative and work alongside the manager to improve the Brown Bear Menu!
• Be willing to prepare bagels if possible (baking experience is preferred, but additional training will be provided).

Requirements

• Proven experience in a kitchen environment
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
• Knowledge of safe cooking practices
• Knowledge of health and hygiene requirements

Hours are currently between 27.5 and 33 hours, but these are flexible and can be discussed during the interview stage.
