Job Title: Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Location: Kent
Salary: £30,000 - £35000
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, including some evenings, weekends, and on-call duties

About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting. The Deputy Manager will be based in one of our 4 Children's Homes in the Kent area and will assist the Registered Manager in leading the home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the children’s home.
  • Ensure the home meets all Ofsted regulations and adheres to relevant legislation.
  • The Deputy Manager will lead, mentor, and develop a team of Residential Support Workers.
  • Support in creating and maintaining care plans tailored to the needs of each child.
  • Ensure the physical, emotional, and social well-being of children and young people.
  • Promote a therapeutic and child-centred approach to care.
  • Manage safeguarding concerns, ensuring child protection policies are adhered to.
  • The Deputy Manager will assist with staff recruitment, training, and supervision.
  • Work closely with external agencies, families, and professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children.


What We’re Looking For:
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Level 5 Leadership & Management (or willingness to work towards it)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a children’s residential home.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children’s Home Regulations, and Quality Standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for working with vulnerable children and young people.
