Job DescriptionQuest Search & Selection are partnering with to one of the market leading food distributor in the UK. This business is well known within FMCG and retail brands across the UK & Europe and distributes major household brands and offers genuine competitive prices through their own fast and efficient supply chain. This role as a Commercial Manager is to support the Head of Department in sourcing and developing relationships with suppliers and managing customers as well as gain new vendors to buy the stock. The key responsibilities of this Commercial Manager position - * To focus on fulfilling the stock requirement with the right products and delivering the gross margin budget for each financial year. * Deliver revenue growth by opening new supplier relationships with retailer, wholesalers and distributors and working to develop supplier partnerships. * Ensuring prices are negotiated effectively, * To look at compliant, long-term relationship building and forming formal trading relationship * Fulfil the stock requirement to achieve budgeted sales (value, mix of stocks etc) * Monitoring competitor activity and helping shape trading policy. * Working with the existing buying & supply chain team to make sure that products are shipped up quickly and efficiently. To be successful in this Commercial Manager position - * Have experience in Buying, Commercial Management, Business Development or National Account Management experience. * That you have present or past experience within a food, wholesale or another FMCG brand. * Successful track record of delivering commercial targets * Experience of the discount or grey markets would be desirable. * Experience of a fast paced trading environment * Strong negotiation skills and the ability to make rapid sound commercial decisions * Have experience of building and developing long-term supplier relationships * You must have a resilient, confident and quick thinking perso...
