Looking for a change in career? A job where everyday is different and you finish the day knowing that you have made a difference. Why not consider being part of our team support workers in Braintree.
The team support four adults with learning disabilities who share their own house. We support them to enjoy a range of interests and activities including shopping, summer BBQ's and listening to music from the 70's and 80's. Days out are also popular with visits to Mersea Island, cafes, local parks and trips to the cinema and bowling alley. Support to be able to enjoy these leisure interests enables each to live a life that makes sense to them. One f the ladies we support has her own car to go out in so diving would be desirable but not essential. The role will entail some personal care including support with bathing and shaving. There can on occasion be minor behaviours of concern which may include shouting and bad language etc. We provide very thorough training to equip you to deal with any situation that might arise and as part of a team you are not thrown in at the deepend. Using Positive Behaviour Support strategies ensures we see the person first, not their behaviour or learning disability.
The feeling of supporting and empowering people with learning disabilities and autism to live a life that makes sense to them is the most heartfelt. And Seeing the difference that YOU can make is unforgettable
