Specialist Physiotherapist for Stroke.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly skilled and dynamic band 6 physiotherapist to join our acute stroke therapy team at University Hospitals Southampton, to provide clinical and operational leadership alongside fellow senior physiotherapists and occupational therapists, and assist with high quality rehabilitation of patients post stroke. ABOUT THE TEAM The therapy team cover a 28 bed stroke rehab ward and a 9 bed hyper acute stroke unit, and operate as part of a large multidisciplinary team, and are at the forefront of providing acute rehabilitation for patients with a diagnosis of stroke. WHAT YOU'LL DO The post offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to develop clinical and managerial skills within the speciality of stroke, and work alongside senior therapists to assist with the development of the service. There is the opportunity for excellent clinical development through working alongside senior experienced therapists in acute stroke rehabilitation as well as an established In service training programme. Good communication skills are vital for working with patients, families and other health care providers when planning and coordinating rehabilitation and discharges with this client group. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Previous experience of working within a stroke service would be beneficial. The role will also require teaching postgraduate/undergraduate students, as well as providing specialist advice regionally.
