Digital Project Manager.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced project manager to join our team and lead on innovative projects within our Ophthalmology service based at Southampton General Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who is well organised and has extensive project management experience and ideally in a healthcare setting. You should have good general knowledge of systems and IT. You must be comfortable with working with a wide range of staff in order to form effective working relationships. You need to be ready for a challenge as the work is fast paced but very interesting. ABOUT THE TEAM As an NHS Global Centre of Digital Excellence (GDE), we are implementing an exciting digital programme across a wide range of care settings and technologies. This role is in the Digital Programme Team which leads on implementing digital projects in the hospital and wider community. We are part of the Informatics team which includes IT, clinical systems and business intelligence. The Informatics team is forward thinking and has national recognition for the innovative solutions and systems it has implemented over the years. WHAT YOU'LL DO The post holder will be working closely with the Informatics team and the Ophthalmology clinical and management team to project manage the upgrade of existing systems which are no longer meeting the needs of the service. They will deliver solutions to a number of IT issues and risks that the Ophthalmology department has identified. They will investigate, specify and implement new solutions that will help transform the way clinical services are delivered including the transfer of digital images from community services.
