Founded in 2012, Oxford Cancer Biomarkers Ltd is a spin-out company from the Institute of Cancer Medicine at the University of Oxford. Oxford Cancer Biomarkers is developing tests that allow medicines to be personalised for the benefit of the cancer patient and is in the process of commercialising a suite of biomarker tests to improve the current treatment pathway in colorectal cancer and plans to develop similar tests for other cancer indications.
OCB is currently in a phase of new product launch and market engagement with its suite of colorectal tests and as such there is a critical business need to hire an internationally experienced and commercially oriented Chief Executive/ Chief Operating Officer with a track record of leading innovative diagnostics organisations within genetic testing or oncology diagnostics.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the stewardship of the OCB business, developing the business plan in line with board and investor expectations to critically establish OCB as a leading player in the oncology biomarker diagnostic market internationally. He/ She will be responsible for ensuring that the business operations are run in accordance with legal and regulatory standards and will represent the business on the global stage with ongoing dialogue with key opinion leaders, cancer patient groups, relevant charities, industry leaders, healthcare payers and other stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Leading an existing national growth strategy, managing, and developing the local market including overseeing relationships with KOLs, the Board and potential third party stakeholders;
• The incumbent will lead the Executive Leadership team and will update the Board regularly and will assist the Business Development Director with the successful delivery of the budgeted sales targets;
