General Intensive Care Unit Ward Administrator.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team within this busy, challenging environment. The general intensive care unit currently has 25 beds, with future expansion plans, looking after critically ill patients during the acute phase of their illness. ABOUT THE TEAM This opportunity is 22.5hrs contract working flexibly to include week days and week-ends. The successful applicant will be required to support the multi-disciplinary team by working closely with colleagues across the critical care department including nurses, doctors and allied health professionals, as well supporting patients and relatives who are often going through a very difficult time. This valuable contribution is required to aid the smooth operation of the unit and to assist with providing a positive experience for all patients and relatives. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Greet relatives/friends of patients explaining the procedure of visiting in ICU and familiarise them with the ICU environment. * Deal with incoming telephone calls courteously and efficiently, referring any queries to the appropriate member of staff, taking messages as required. Ensure that patients' medical records and diagnostic reports are available and correctly maintained daily. * Ensure discharge letters and transfer summaries have been checked daily and sent out to the appropriate departments and GPs.
