Social Worker - Mental Health Team.
Essex County Council continues to review its ways of working during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. We continue to work within adult social care with a focus on "digital first", where the default position is, where possible, for our staff to work from home ( this is continuously reviewed). All candidates applying to Adult Social Care will be expected to join on a 12-week rota on a 6-day shift pattern and this will include some weekend work. However, we still promote flexible working and a flexible work pattern can be discussed. This role will be covering North Essex Older Adults Mental Health Team, with the team based at Essex House Colchester.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker within the Older Adults Mental Health Team in North Essex, based in Colchester. The team will work in partnership with adults and their informal carers to support with their mental health and well-being, providing support and guidance in line with the Care Act principles. This will be delivered in partnership with local voluntary and statutory services. This will lead to exciting opportunities to develop new relationships and innovative ways of working with partners autonomously.
The team consists of a Team Manager, Deputy Team Manager, Senior Social Workers, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Community Support Workers. Workers will be supported to learn skills and develop as a professional within the specialism of mental health.
The role will involve working proactively with adults and families both in the community and hospital environments. Using the recovery model developing support plans and discharge pathways for adults, in accordance with the Mental Health Act 1983.
