Your new role
As Sales Team Manager you will be fully responsible for both the internal and external sales teams. This will involve the day to day motivation, coaching and development of all team members. You will be an excellent motivator and sales coach capable of giving your team the help, guidance and the tools required to enable them to hit their targets. This role is a people management role therefore you will need to have an understanding of the sales process but you will not be involved in direct sales - that is what your team are here for. You are responsible for ensuring that your team have the right working environment, tools, information, training, coaching and drive to reach the targets you have set.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience of managing a sizeable sales team is absolutely crucial within this role as you will be expected to manage an established team with a variety of training and coaching requirements. All team members have the ability necessary to be successful but require a team leader and coach to inspire and celebrate their successes. They need a mentor and support to You will need to be self-confident, a people leader that can outwardly motivate your team to succeed. This will suit a real "peoples person" someone that thrives when managing and coaching a team and would be of interest to a Sales Team Manager that loves managing people but wants to move away from selling or being responsible for sales figures.
