Job DescriptionWe are recruiting a buyer to support the delivery of the Cost Improvement Plan and ensure an effective and efficient e procurement service is provided to end users. You will need to provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers working using initiative to ensure the right goods are received into the Trust. ABOUT THE TEAM This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday). The Team has achieved Level 1 accreditation as awarded by the NHS Skills Development Network as part of the Department of Health National Standards of Procurement. The team who are based in Southampton and Basingstoke work together to share knowledge and achieve the best possible outcomes for the two host Trusts. WHAT YOU'LL DO * To support the Assistant Procurement Specialist and Procurement Managers in the delivery of the Cost Improvement Plan (C.I.P) and ensure an effective and efficient e procurement service is provided to end users. * Undertake purchasing activity and deliver medium/high value contracts for goods, equipment, services and maintenance etc. To ensure contract and catalogue compliance are in line with Procurement regulations. * Work actively to Spot usage trends to ensure all catalogues are processed correctly to support a standardisation and rationalisation products and services. * Assist senior staff to implement change to deliver for clients and continuously improve the service and enhance procurement expertise. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Experience of working in a purchasing and supplies environment and some knowledge of EU regulations * Market and supplier / product knowledge including Procedures and catalogue management * Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff * Computer literate with good keyboard skills, Windows based applications, Word, Excel, purchasing and inventory software systems. * Good verbal and written communication skills WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU We can offer...
