Support Worker needed for rough sleepers in Luton
Medacs are currently recruiting for a talented support worker to work with Non EU nationals who are currently sleeping rough in Luton. We are looking for someone with a skill set that will empower individuals to make positive choices about their futures. The role is aimed at supporting NRPF economic migrants into suitable accommodation and eventually onto a work pathway. You will need to demonstrate an ability to complete and implement risk assessments, be aware of current benefit legislation and work as part of a wide ranging multi disciplinary team.
You will need to have the ability to translate/communicate in at least one Eastern European language (preferably Polish).
An ability to empower, coach and mentor is key to the success of this role. You will need to be confident in challenging negative behaviours, have a working knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice, and Mental Health Awareness.
Educated to a minimum of 'A' level with an NVQL 3 in Health and Social care
Clean driving licence and access to a vehicle
