Overview
An exciting opportunity has become available on a beautiful rural estate in the Henley-on-Thames/Marlow area, for a full time gardener/grounds person.
Applicants should have good plant knowledge and should be able to demonstrate an efficient and practical approach to their work.
The successful candidate must have experience in:
Operating ride on and hand pushed mowers
Operating strimmers and leaf blowers
Undertaking soil cultivations and seed bed preparation
Seeding, planting and weeding
Chopping firewood
Pruning
Chainsaw license would be advantageous but not essential
Qualifications
A full driving licence is essential
Qualifications such as NVQ 2 Amenity Horticulture, RHS Level 2, or equivalent along with previous experience working on Estates is desired but not essential
Previous experience in gardening, horticulture or landscape maintenance is preferred.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems is desirable.
Growing experience or knowledge of plant care and horticultural practices is advantageous.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail.
Good organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
Physical fitness to perform manual tasks such as digging, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
A genuine interest in gardening and landscape aesthetics. This position offers a rewarding environment for those passionate about outdoor work and landscape care, providing opportunities to develop skills within a professional setting dedicated to horticultural excellence.
This is a live out position.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
28 days holiday a year including bank holidays.
