Head chef - The Boot

Sous required for 6 weeks , busy pub restaurant in Hertfordshire, possibly longer.

Busy kitchen needing help on wok Thai food, high quality dishes, working hours Friday Saturday morning 11-3pm 5pm to 11pm Sunday for Sunday Roast 9am to 8pm

We are looking for a pub chef to work in our Mediterranean- style kitchen. Our grill food is marinated in house and cooked over hot coals so we need someone who is great at food prep, and can work in front of the grill. We also plan to expand our menu to include Sunday Roasts. Ideally we are looking for someone fairly local, preferably with pub kitchen experience. We are looking for someone friendly and reliable. A good knowledge of how to cook meat is an added bonus. Other requirements will be, keeping kitchen clean and maintaining hygiene standards, talking to customers, and coming up with signature dishes for the menu.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced chef to join our kitchen team full-time, specializing in Korean and Chinese cuisine. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking dishes to uphold our high standards, ensuring each dish is flavorful and consistent. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare and cook Korean and Chinese dishes according to company standards., • Develop new menu items and seasonal specials., • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety within the kitchen., • Manage stock levels and minimize food waste., • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff when required., • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality. Requirements: • Proven experience as a chef in Korean, Chinese, or Pan-Asian cuisine., • Strong knowledge of sauces, marinades, and traditional cooking methods., • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment., • Good communication and teamwork skills., • Food Hygiene Level 2 (or higher) certification preferred., • Right to work in the UK.
