Overview
As Head Pastry Chef, you will lead pastry production and preparation, bringing care, consistency and creativity to the kitchen. You will organise daily work, guide colleagues through recipes and techniques, and ensure finished items are ready for service. Your impact: well-planned pastry production helps kitchen colleagues deliver a smooth, consistent dining experience for guests.
Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee food production, baking and cooking, coordinating preparation with the wider kitchen team.
- Develop and prepare pastries and desserts, maintaining quality and presentation throughout service.
- Apply food safety practices during preparation, cooking, storage and cleaning.
- Support colleagues with clear direction, share practical knowledge and help keep kitchen work organised.
Experience
Required: Practical food preparation, baking, cooking and food safety capabilities are essential, alongside the organisation and communication needed to coordinate pastry work and support colleagues in a busy kitchen. Preferred: Kitchen experience and culinary experience will help you lead production confidently; restaurant experience is advantageous, as is familiarity with preparing pastries and desserts for hotels and entertainment venues and flight catering.
