Job Duties of a Kitchen Porter at Hot N Juicy: Cleaning and Sanitising: Washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to keep everything ready for use. Cleaning kitchen surfaces, floors, and walls to maintain the high hygiene standards of Hot N Juicy. Sanitising kitchen equipment, such as grills and fryers, to ensure they are in top condition. Waste Management: Disposing of kitchen waste and regularly emptying bins to keep the kitchen tidy and safe. Sorting recyclable materials and ensuring proper disposal of food waste in line with Hot N Juicy's sustainability practices. Assisting Chefs: Assisting with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling and chopping vegetables, as required by the chefs. Restocking ingredients and supplies during service to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly. Equipment and Inventory Management: Organising and storing kitchen equipment and tools, ensuring everything is in its proper place. Monitoring stock levels of cleaning supplies and kitchen essentials, and informing supervisors when restocking is needed. Health and Safety Compliance: Following all health and safety regulations, including the correct use of cleaning chemicals, to maintain a safe working environment. Wearing appropriate protective clothing and equipment as per Hot N Juicy's safety guidelines. Miscellaneous Duties: Performing additional tasks as required by the kitchen team, such as setting up workstations or delivering food to the service area. Key Skills and Attributes: Physical Stamina: The role is physically demanding, often requiring long hours of standing, lifting, and moving heavy objects, especially during busy service periods. Attention to Detail: Ensuring all areas are clean and properly sanitised is crucial to maintaining Hot N Juicy's high standards. Teamwork: Ability to work closely with the kitchen staff, following instructions efficiently and contributing to a positive team environment.
