Southend Mencap's Novel Coffee Shop serves the Southend community as well as provides work placement opportunities for people with learning disabilities, who serve the customers with the drinks and food.
This role is predominantly to prepare the light lunches as well as working/running the coffeeshop for 1 day per week plus 1-2 Saturdays per month too.
The kitchen work is 4 days per week, 11.30am to 3pm, producing sandwiches, toasties, jacket potatoes, chillis and wraps. Food hygiene qualification required.
Working/running the coffeeshop is 1 day/week plus 1-2 Saturdays/month, 9am to 5pm. This requires barista experience, taking customer orders, managing cash and card payments and overseeing the learning disabled volunteers in the shop.
Salary - £16,086 gross/year
