Key Duties:
- Plan and carry out child-initiated and adult-led activities to support children’s individual needs and interests.
- Encourage communication, language, literacy, and numeracy development.
- Act as a key person, helping children feel secure and supported.
- Complete observations and use these to plan next steps in learning.
- Carry out daily care routines, including nappy changing, toileting, handwashing, and mealtimes with care and respect.
- Work in partnership with parents, colleagues, and other professionals.
- Promote children’s welfare, wellbeing, and safety at all times.
- Support children through transitions, such as moving rooms or starting school.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Work in an inclusive and non-discriminatory way.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS.
- Build warm and trusting relationships with children and families.
- Work effectively within your room team.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
- Follow all safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
- Contribute positively to a supportive team culture.
About You:
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent).
- Experience working in a nursery or childcare setting.
- Good understanding of child development and the EYFS.
- Reliable, caring, and enthusiastic.
- Passionate about giving children the best start in life.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing.
- A driver is preferred due to our rural location, although we are within walking distance of Headcorn train station.
