South Wonston Day Nursery, a purpose-built preschool located in the village of South Wonston (approximately 4 miles north of Winchester, easily accessible off the A34), is seeking a dedicated Nursery Manager. Our facility offers a secure stimulating nursery environment for children aged 18 months to 5 years.
As Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring high standards of childcare and early education are maintained. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing a team of early years educators.
- Overseeing curriculum implementation and development.
- Fostering a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for all children.
- Building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
- Managing administrative duties, including staffing, budgets, and enrolment.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and safeguarding policies.
- Promoting the nursery's ethos and values within the community.
What You’ll Bring
- Qualifications: A full and relevant Early Years qualification (Level 3 or above) is essential.
- Leadership Experience: A proven track record in a management or leadership role within an early years setting.
- Expert Knowledge: Deep understanding of the EYFS, Ofsted frameworks, and safeguarding procedures.
- Business Brain: The ability to manage budgets, drive occupancy, and monitor performance targets.
- People Skills: A natural ability to lead a team, handle concerns with empathy, and communicate with senior leadership.
