Overview:
A Nursery Practitioner plays a vital role in providing high-quality early years education and care to children. This position requires a nurturing, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual who can create a stimulating and safe environment for children to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Childcare and Development:
Plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities to support children’s learning and development.
Foster a secure and stimulating environment to encourage exploration and creativity.
Monitor and assess children’s progress, identifying individual needs and reporting to parents and supervisors.
Safeguarding and Welfare:
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas of the nursery.
Administer first aid when necessary and ensure health and safety regulations are met.
Team Collaboration:
Work as part of a team to create a positive and inclusive environment.
Contribute to planning sessions and team meetings.
Build and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, and staff.
Documentation and Reporting:
Keep accurate records of children’s daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding their child’s development and milestones.
Professional Development:
Stay updated with best practices in early years education through training and continued professional development.
Ensure compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.
Knowledge of the EYFS framework.
Experience working with children in a childcare setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
Pediatric First Aid certification.
Additional training in safeguarding or special educational needs (SEN).
