About Naughton Contracts Limited

Naughton Contracts Limited (NCL) is engaging experienced specialist gangs to support an upcoming groundworks project in Newcastle. We're looking to build strong working relationships with reliable, qualified teams who can hit the ground running.

Roles We're Recruiting For

🔹 General Groundworkers

• Carry out general groundworks duties including excavation, drainage, foundations, and site preparation
• Work safely and efficiently as part of a team to meet project programme requirements
• Follow site method statements, risk assessments, and NCL's health & safety procedures
• Support other trades on site as required
• Must hold valid CSCS card and CITB HS&E test certification

🔹 Machine Operators

• Operate plant and machinery (e.g. excavators, dumpers, rollers) safely and competently
• Carry out daily plant checks and report any defects or maintenance issues
• Work to drawings and instructions from site management
• Hold relevant, in-date CPCS/NPORS ticket(s) for the machinery being operated
• Must hold valid CSCS card and CITB HS&E test certification

🔹 Fencers

• Install and maintain temporary and permanent fencing to specification
• Work accurately from site drawings and setting-out information
• Ensure fencing work meets health & safety and quality standards
• Coordinate with the wider groundworks team to keep the site secure and compliant
• Must hold valid CSCS card and CITB HS&E test certification

Requirements (All Roles)

• Valid CSCS card (appropriate to role/grade)
• Valid CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) test certification
• Full Right to Work documentation
• Relevant trade experience and, where applicable, plant/machinery tickets
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a gang
• Own PPE (site-specific requirements to be confirmed)
