Summary
DHL Global Forwarding are now recruiting for an Apprentice in Birmingham. The successful candidate will develop towards becoming a Transport & Warehouse Operative. In this role you will handle cargo movement, assist in and execute the handling of daily warehouse operations, adhering to regulations and internal procedures.
Annual wage£14,625 a year
The pay may be negotiated and will rise after a probation period has been successfully completed.
Training course Supply chain warehouse operative (level 2)
Hours Monday - Friday. Evenings (14:00 - 22:30). Including 1 hour break.37 hours a week

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
On the job training delivered by the employer.
Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end point assessment.
For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships English and mathematics minimum requirement is Entry Level 3
Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out regular training
Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop
Identify, track and support 6 hours off the job training activities
Quarterly formal progress review meetings, identifying learning achievements and next steps

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
5 GCSE’s including Maths and English (grade A*-C/ 4-9)
2 years’ work experience or 2 years further educ (grade NA)

After this apprenticeship
The Apprenticeship will initially be a 18 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC), with the aim that Apprentices either move onto a further Apprenticeship or a permanent role within the business – subject to a suitable vacancy being available and in line with the selection process for the role.
