My Neighbours the Dumplings is a family-run business with 2 local neighbourhood restaurants in East London, specialising in hand-made dumplings and dim sum style dishes made from scratch in-house. We originally started out as a successful pop-up before opening our first restaurant in lower Clapton in 2016. In Summer 2019 we opened our second restaurant in the heart of Victoria Park village. What we do: Offering a selection of dumplings and small plates served family-style to share. Our dedicated Dumpling Team hand-makes all of our dumplings from scratch each day, whilst our Kitchen Team prepares the rest of the menu and handles our two daily services. We work closely with our specialist suppliers to showcase high-quality East/SE Asian ingredients and produce alongside sustainable British meat & seafood. Why we do it: Our menu is a reflection of our diverse restaurant family. It focuses mainly on Cantonese and other Chinese regional recipes and flavours but also draws inspiration from other East and South-East Asian cuisines, combining traditional techniques, family recipes and fond food memories with new ideas contributed by our teams. Each restaurant has its own style and atmosphere but we work to promote consistency and unity across both restaurants and all teams. We are looking for an experienced Italian speaking sous chef to join our team in Portobello Road that offers authentic Roman cuisine. The perfect candidate will have experience working in similar position, and will show a passion for perfection. The role also involves being responsible for the health and safety in the kitchen, maintaining high standards and being fully compliant with health and safety laws. This is a full time role. We’re seeking an experienced breakfast cook to join our team. Basic duties will include making breakfast, preparing salads and sandwiches, light cooking and ordering. Knowledge of cooking skills and hygiene certification level 1 minimum needed however training and development will be given to the ideal candidate. Starting from as early as 7am Sundays off

Chef Pay rate: £11.5 - 13£ per hour plus service charge tronc. Pay rate based on experience. More hours possible. You are paid weekly. Excellent opportunities for development.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR: We are looking for an experienced (minimum 1 year in similar role) and ambitious Junior Sous Chef. The right candidate has a passion for leading a team through guidance and training. You should have passion for food and showcasing great ingredients. This is a Production based role, you will be supporting the Head and Sous Chef. Your job roles will include taking care of placing the food orders and ensuring that all produce is put away and stored correctly we use the best produce nature has to offer and have a top tier list of suppliers we take a lot of pride in ensuring were sourcing our food from ethical, responsible sources. You will also be expected in assisting on running the day to day operations as well as arguably the most important factor up keeping the high food standards and compliance. We make large quantities of fresh and filled pasta daily along with the sauces from the current menu which changes monthly to make sure were getting the best of the seasons. The head chef needs an assistant to help prepare the food. It's a nice restaurant in the heart of Paddington, nice Mediterranean food and not too big of a restaurant so it does not get crazy busy.
