Known for its collaborative culture and strong client relationships, the company offers a stable pipeline of work through established frameworks and repeat business.\n\nThe Role\nDue to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team based in Manchester.\n\nThis role will involve managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects, with a focus on design and build refurbishment schemes across blue light and commercial sectors, with project values up to £15 million. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the wider project team.\n\nAs Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:\n\nManaging the commercial delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account\n\nPreparing and reviewing cost plans, budgets, and forecasts\n\nProcurement and management of subcontract packages\n\nPreparing valuations, variations, and final accounts\n\nMonitoring project costs and ensuring financial targets are achieved\n\nManaging risk and identifying commercial opportunities\n\nLiaising closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors\n\nSupporting and mentoring junior commercial team members where required\n\nThe Ideal Candidate\nThe successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have strong experience working for a main contractor on refurbishment and design & build projects within the commercial or public sector.\n\nThe successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have:\n\nProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor\n\nExperience delivering blue light, public sector, or commercial construction projects\n\nStrong knowledge of design and build refurbishment projects\n\nExperience working on projects up to £15 million in value\n\nStrong commercial awareness and contract administration skills\n\nExcellent negotiation and communication skills\n\nAbility to manage multiple projects and stakeholders\n\nRelevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) preferred\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nCompetitive salary of £55,000 - £70,000\n\nCar allowance or company car\n\nPerformance-related bonus\n\nPension scheme\n\nPrivate healthcare\n\nStrong pipeline of secured projects\n\nOpportunities for career progression within a growing contractor\n\nApply: If you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today with our Commercial Specialist, Mark Harris. \n\nBuilding Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
