We are working with a growing residential new build company known for delivering high-quality homes . They are looking to expand their team and are looking for a skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor who brings not only technical expertise in cost management but also a practical background in carpentry and joinery. The Role You will play a key role in managing project costs, supporting the build process from early estimates to final accounts. With your hands-on knowledge of carpentry and joinery, you’ll bring valuable insight to material take-offs, trade coordination, and quality standards across our developments. Key Responsibilities • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities, • Manage procurement, negotiate with suppliers/subcontractors, and maintain cost control, • Conduct site visits to assess progress, variations, and potential cost implications, • Work closely with the project team to ensure builds meet design, budget, and schedule requirements, • Evaluate tender documents, contracts, and project specifications, • Monitor and report on project financial performance, • Contribute technical insight on carpentry and joinery elements to improve build quality and efficiency Requirements • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential construction sector, • Strong background in carpentry and joinery—either through prior trade experience or significant on-site exposure, • Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations
