    Job Title: Wheel Refurbishment Technician / Workshop Assistant Location: Westbury-sub-Mendip, Wells (BA5 1EY) Salary: £300.00 per week Job Type: Part-time to Full time. Contract (Self-Employed with potential for Permanent) Schedule: Monday, Wednesday and Friday (Flexible hours discussed at interview) About 2 Pro Wheel Refurb 2 Pro Wheel Refurb is a leading workshop-based specialist in automotive wheel restoration. Unlike mobile services, we operate a fully equipped industrial unit dedicated to delivering factory-standard finishes. We pride ourselves on quality, safety, and our "Industrial Process" approach, stripping wheels back to raw metal and rebuilding the finish from the ground up. We are currently expanding our team and are looking for a motivated, physically fit, and reliable Refurbishment Technician to join us. This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who takes pride in automotive craftsmanship and wants to join a professional environment where quality comes first. The Role As our new Technician, you will be the backbone of the refurbishment process. You will be responsible for the initial stages of the wheel refurbishment cycle, taking wheels from "kerbed and corroded" to "ready for coating." You will be trained in our specific industrial workflows, including the safe operation of chemical stripping tanks and media blasting equipment. Key Responsibilities Vehicle & Wheel Management: • Safely jacking and supporting customer vehicles using hydraulic equipment and axle stands (indoors or outdoors as required)., • Removing wheels and stripping tyres using tyre machines., • Handling high-value alloy wheels with extreme care to prevent damage during the stripping process. Chemical Stripping Process: • Loading and operating chemical stripping tanks to remove old paint, lacquer, and powder coating., • Adhering to strict Health & Safety protocols when handling harsh chemicals (PPE provided)., • Pressure washing wheels to remove chemical residue and loose debris. Media Blasting & Surface Prep: • Operating media blasting cabinets/rooms to remove corrosion and oxidisation., • Ensuring the alloy surface is blasted to the correct profile to ensure maximum adhesion for the new powder coat. Manual Preparation: • Hand-sanding spokes and intricate areas that machinery cannot reach., • Repairing kerb damage using sanding techniques and fillers where necessary., • Final degreasing and cleaning before the wheels move to the powder coating stage. Workshop Standards: • Maintaining a clean and organised workspace., • Assisting with general workshop duties to ensure a smooth workflow. About You To succeed in this role, you must be reliable, hardworking, and have a keen eye for detail. This is a physical job involving lifting wheels and operating machinery. Experience: Previous experience in tyre fitting, body shop preparation, or shot blasting is highly advantageous, but we are willing to train the right candidate who shows the right attitude. Skills: Ability to work independently and manage your own time. Strong attention to detail, “good enough" is not good enough for us. Physical fitness (lifting wheels and standing for periods). Full UK Driving License (preferred for moving vehicles). Attitude: You treat every customer’s car as if it were your own.
