KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Leadership & Support • Be the first point of contact for all internal technical queries—from site supervisors and estimators to surveyors and client-facing teams., • Assist with product and system specification, from tender stage through to practical completion., • Maintain and audit all third-party certifications and industry accreditations., • Lead on site audits, compliance checks, and certification reviews across live and completed projects., • Deliver internal training to surveyors, operatives, and project managers., • Review and approve material specifications to ensure fire resistance, system compatibility, and compliance., • Act as a technical representative in meetings with clients, consultants, and suppliers., • Build trusted relationships by offering clear, practical, and standards-driven advice. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE • Proven experience in Passive Fire Protection and fire door compliance, • Hands-on quality assurance experience across live sites, • Familiarity with IFC or BM Trada certification standards and ISO frameworks, • Strong understanding of building regulations and fire safety guidance, • Confidence in both internal leadership and external stakeholder communication, • A proactive, approachable mindset with a practical, solutions-focused attitude Preferred Background: Carpentry / Joinery Experience While this is a senior compliance and technical role, a background in carpentry or joinery, particularly with fire door installation or inspection experience, will be highly regarded. Practical, hands-on understanding of how fire doors and other passive fire systems are constructed and installed gives our ideal candidate a valuable edge in: • Training operatives in real-world scenarios, • Reviewing workmanship on-site, • Validating installation methods for accuracy and compliance, • If you’ve moved from the tools into technical leadership—or if you combine compliance knowledge with deep site experience—this role is designed with you in mind.
