Relief Specialist Support Worker - Taunton.

I am looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated support worker to join my established team. I am a 62 year old gentleman who requires support with all of my daily activities including personal care, medication, meal preparation and finances. I have a learning disability and therefore experience with behaviours that challenge is desirable. People admire my sense of humour and cheeky smile. My interests include accessing the community and local shops to buy a newspaper daily, enjoying a hot drink or a meal and people watching. I would like support to continue to access the community and to seek out new experiences and opportunities. I do have my own mobility car so a driver would be preferable but not essential. You will receive full training in order to support me. My support workers have a rolling rota and provide 105 hours per week and 7 sleep ins. The applicant must be able to work well within a team and also work alone on a one to one basis with me. We are looking for an experienced Support Worker to support and enable this customer in Taunton and in accessing the community with both day and night support roles available. A Specialist Support Worker is one of our most essential roles and involves: Helping our customers to remain independent in their own homes. Supporting our customers by accompanying them to appointments, shopping, preparing meals and helping with daily living routines including washing, dressing and personal care.
