Experienced Learning Support Assistant – Redbridge (East London) – Term Time Only Salary: £24,279 (Actual Pay) Hours: Monday–Thursday 08:30–16:00 | Friday 08:30–15:00 Contract: Term time only (34 hours per week, 44.26 weeks) Start Date: ASAP About the School We are working with a well-established and highly regarded school in Redbridge, known for its supportive leadership team and strong sense of community. About the Role This is an opportunity for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a dedicated and collaborative team. You will play a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve meaningful progress. You will be working closely with teaching staff to deliver targeted support on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, using your experience to adapt approaches and respond to individual needs. This is a hands-on role where your input will directly influence pupils’ development, both academically and socially. Key Responsibilities • Provide consistent, high-quality support to pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including communication and behavioural challenges, • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored learning strategies, • Encourage independence, engagement, and positive learning behaviours, • Apply behaviour management strategies confidently and consistently, • Monitor pupil progress and provide clear, structured feedback to teaching staff, • Support with personal care where required, • Contribute to a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment What We’re Looking For • Strong experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role, • Experience supporting children or young people with additional or complex needs, • A confident and proactive approach to supporting behaviour and learning, • Ability to build strong, professional relationships with pupils and staff, • Calm, resilient, and adaptable under pressure, • A genuine passion for supporting pupils to succeed Desirable Experience • Previous experience within a school setting, • Knowledge or training in approaches such as Team Teach, PECS, TEACCH, or Intensive Interaction, • Experience supporting pupils with complex needs, • First Aid qualification What the School Offers • A supportive and approachable leadership team who value their staff, • A well-structured environment with clear systems and expectations, • Ongoing training and development opportunities, • A collaborative team where your experience is recognised and respected, • A genuinely rewarding role where you will see the impact of your work every day Safeguarding The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
